• The quest of a dream...

Monthes spent searching for the “unobtainable“, according to professionnal property dealers at the time! An old house , with a  real life history, a house with stone wall, big beams, thick walls, large spaces. In our dream, this house had to stand on a large piece of land, far from everything, to be calm, but "not too far away even so" so as not to live like savages" and not too far from services. Another wish was to be near the ocean but not too close to avoid the summer hustle and bustle and traffic jams. And preferably near a stretch of water!!!

• From dream to reality.

We finally  unearthed this jewel and now we are happy to welcome you and your friends who, like ourselves, are nature lovers, in search of peace and quiet, the good life, relaxation and idleness.

On the banks of the river Adour, 50 metres  from the towpath and the bottom of the hill and in the middle of the maize shields,  an old XVII century basco-Landaise  farm. It was love at first sight for the environment and right from the moment we opened the front door on seeing the thick stone walls and the huge beams. Full of enthusiasm, we rolled up our sleeves and got on its renovation!

• Gîtes or chambres d'hôtes : common point, confort.

In this large building with 250 m2 floor surface, , we spent many hours in thought before deciding  on a layout that allows the creation of two different accomodation areas, both independent and complementary:

• A gîte where people can feel at house, while at the same time being near us.
• Chambres d'hôtes (B&B) rooms with maximum comfort ( separate showers-rooms and toilets ), different communal areas spacious enough  for warm "all together" moments, or on the contrary the possibility of isolating oneself sometimes to read, to watch TV or to do other things.

Another  concern was search for comfortable heating system :  not easy for such big rooms ! No regrets as to our choice of reversible heat pumps , which provide us , in these big spaces, with a maximum of comfort, both in summer and winter.What a pleasure it is, during a heatwave, to take a short nap in a cool shady place thanks to the air-conditioning.
