 A botanical form of relaxation too : the pleasure of discovering flowers, the aromaztic plants and their scents, and the children’s pleasure, always so genuine in a vegetable garden : to see the tomatoes on their stalks, to be able to pick them and to enjoy the cherry-tomatoes, so tasty, and the beans, the green courgettes, but yellow ones too, white aubergines, different sorts of lettuce, artichokes, pumpkins, peppers from the Landes, or those from Espelette.
For us, it is a real pleasure to accompany the children in their discovery and picking, and to see the surprise on some of their faces on seeing, for example, the radishes sprouting.
 Another favourite pastime for the children : the animal corner. They can take some grains of maize into the enclosures for the hens and black cocks with their own henhouse, that of the Sussex breed or the superb Brahmas of impressive size and shimmering colours.
The sack of dry bread for the dwarf goat and her little kid born in may, a playful and mischievous baby, to the great delight of the children.
And we not must forget the donkey, Cadichon, always curious about all that’s going on and who asks only for cuddles and more titbits.

 The Pond
The pond with its water lilies and its goldfish incites children to patience and observation : to spot the” baby fish” trying to leave their hiding place in the water weeds, but above all, to spot on which stone or water lilly leaf can be the frogs that form such a chorus!
A discreet walk in the garden or along the path brings, sometimes in summer and very often out of the season, the pleasure of discovering the roe deer that leap about and don’t hesitate to come very near the enclosure.
